Listening to Parts of Yourself
Can you see the positive intention in that part of yourself (for example, it wants to protect you or prevent you from feeling too much pain)?
- If you can, then continue your dialogue with it. Try to empathize with this part of yourself, and to help it to understand your perspective. Continue with this practice until the end of this training session.
If you don’t hear any response, or if this part is hostile or critical, go to Practice 6: When Compassion Is Difficult.
